Punta Chame

Barely more than an hour’s drive from Panama City, Punta Chame is popular among tourists for its beaches and various water activities. With a very long stretch of white sand beaches (which would take more than 8 hours to walk from one end to the other), and crystal clear sea surrounding it, visitors can soak up in the sun leisurely whiling the time away.

Windsurfing is a popular activity in Punta Chame, with the more adventurous and able wind surfing from the Chame bay all the way to the Panama Bay. On windy summer days, kiting has also proven popular amongst locals.

A prominent island in Punta Chame is the Isla Taborcillo. Said to be once owned by actor John Wayne, the island features a post office which was once a sheriff’s office remodeled after the many westerns Wayne starred in during his acting days.

Tourists will find comfort in the fact that aside from accessibility from Panama City, Punta Chame has all the necessary variety of shops, stores and dining establishments. Its ideal location to the coastal areas as well as having vast open landscapes as its backdrop, is what makes Punta Chame an ideal location of investment for future resort developers as well as individual residents.
