Panama’s Tocumen International Airport

Situated 15 miles from Panama City, the Tocumen International Airport is the largest airport in Panama, and currently the busiest airport in Central America, Tocumen utilizes only two runways. Daily flights to 26 major international destinations are processed through this airport.

The airport’s cargo area once served as the original airport location back during its 1947 inauguration. The airport has undergone renovations to boost its international image, as well as increased capacity handling ability. Innovations include better elevators, modern luggage administration systems, new air conditioning and new flight information systems.

Even with those renovations however, there are still a lot of things that tourists would wish the airport has, such as more restaurants and more efficient bus terminals. The sole restaurant available has fairly costly, whilst the food kiosk is limited in terms of choice and availability. Limited seating availability is also something that needs attention, and visitors should be aware of this inconvenience.
