Over 1 ton of Cocaine seized in Coast Arriba, Panama
A joint operation between Panama and US authorities, codenamed ‘Operation Mar Sereno’ has netted 1,3 tons of cocaine, and the arrest of 7 Colombian suspects. The operation came about after a sailboat was spotted in Portobelo Bay, and was linked to a speedboat taking the cocaine off the boat. The sailboat was scanned using the IOSCAN system, which tested positive for trace amounts of the drug. This is the largest drug bust in the Colon Province for 2009 so far.
